The NCES has a history dating back to 1956. Through the decades the Society has brought both amateur and hobbyist insect enthusiasts and professional entomologists together to share knowledge and a mutual passion for our invertebrate friends.
Recently the Society began the process to become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The NCES incorporated as a state nonprofit organization in September 2023.
The NCES brings students, amateur, and professional entomologists together through meetings, networking, and Members Only events and activities. Together we provide education and community outreach to the public.
We recognize academic and professional achievement and by the presentation of annual Outstanding Graduate Student Awards, Outstanding Educator Award, and Outstanding Contribution to Entomology Award.
Our organization financially assists students studying entomology with Travel Grants to attend professional meetings and other professional development events.
